I am a ceramic artist whose practice is rooted in exploring themes of Black culture, history, lineage, and identity. Working primarily with clay, I incorporate found objects and draw from my multidisciplinary background to create work that is both sculptural and mixed media.

Texture plays a central role in my ceramic work. I intentionally build surfaces that invite touch as well as sight, creating a sensory experience for the viewer. I consciously think about color theory, strategically using color to challenge and captivate the eye.

I am obsessed with faces and depiction, curious about heritage, community, and tradition. My ceramic practice is grounded in the idea of creating work that is ‘for us, by us’ developing pieces that feel like home: welcoming, familiar, and affirming of Black identity and community.

I use clay to build stories to honor those who came before me and to create space for Black life to be seen, felt, and remembered. My work aims to evoke a sense of growth, both in one’s past and future self. Reflection is the mirror of who we are becoming, and each piece pays homage to the ancestors whose actions laid the foundation for what I am now learning and becoming.
